Bill to Amend Condo Law Introduced in State Senate!

If a proposed bill becomes law in Wisconsin, sellers of condo units may be able to provide condominium documents to potential buyers electronically.

On March 10, 2010, a bill was introduced in the Wisconsin Senate that may change the condominium law in this state.  The proposed bill would allow condominium unit sellers to provide the condominium disclosure package to potential buyers electronically.

There are some requirements – including that (1) the potential buyer agree to accept the documents electronically, (2) the seller notify the potential buyer that he may request a paper copy of the documents, and (3) the seller confirm that he has received and can access the electronic form of the documents.

The passage of this bill may save time, money, and paper.  The bill has been referred to committee.  We will keep you posted on its progress.
